“Sir, are you planning on sleeping all day?” JARVIS inquired.
The lights in the dark room turned on and the mass in the bed groaned and shifted. It was late in the afternoon but Tony didn’t care at all.
“I was up late. Cut me some slack” he complained as he pulled the covers over his head and curled into a ball.
“Yes, I’m quite aware of that. But it is currently four in the afternoon and you do have more work to do.”
Tony groaned again, sat up, and groggily rubbed his eyes. He spent many late nights working down in the lab with the cube. No one really understood why he pushing himself so hard. Tony didn’t really understand it all too well either. All he knew is that he had to get results and if it required sacrificing sleep then so be it.
He crawled out of his bed, stretched, and checked the time. Damn. JARVIS wasn’t lying when he said it was late. He had lost a lot of time that could have been used to work with the cube. That was unacceptable. He decided to invest in more caffeine products.
Tony changed his clothes and headed to the lab, but not before taking a quick detour to the kitchen to snag the coffee maker. The doors to the lab swooshed open and Tony immediately got to work on finding a good spot for his new best friend. He didn’t even notice the two other people in the lab with him. They watched quietly as he loudly shoved papers and tools out of the way to make space for the little machine.
He stepped back to admire his work and noticed he was being watched.
“Good morning, fellas!” Tony greeted as he smiled at the coffee maker.
